What is Circball
CircBall is a simulated indoor or outdoor basketball game of skill inside a circular court using a cluster of ring baskets. CircBall displays similar features of the game of basketball such as the use of a ball to score points. However, the similarity ends in the use of a unique cluster ring of baskets in a center circular court, the handling of the ball among players, the movement of players within the circular court area with its own defined rules and regulations that involve a mixture of competitive, interactive and cooperative game of play.
Vicente S. Vysosias is the original inventor of CIRCBALL formerly known as LOVEBALL. Circball was originally patented on October 5, 1979 in the Philippines.
CircBall (also known as Loveball) maybe played indoors or outdoors. It is played on a circular court between 60 to 70 feet in diameter. The court shall be a hard level surface most preferably of wood flooring. There should be an unobstructed space of at least six feet all around the boundary line of the court. The direction of the court should be exactly with the direction of the four cardinal points of the compass.
At the center of the court is the location of the cluster of rings which is the point where the post stands. Two concentric circles are placed inside the court. The space between two concentric circles is commonly known as the annulus ring (green area). The annulus ring is where the free throw area and the drop ball area zones are located. The drop ball zones are located on the east and west portion of the annular court. The free throw zones are located on the north and south portion of the annular court.
